Gillian Rice is a Senior Compliance Specialist in Cassidy Levy Kent’s Washington office. Ms. Rice supports clients and firm attorneys and economists involved in various trade remedy proceedings before U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. International Trade Commission, United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) binational panels, the U.S. Court of International Trade, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
She also assists in matters relating to U.S. export controls laws and proceedings before the U.S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the U.S. State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), including supporting clients reporting potential non-compliance and those developing and implementing compliance programs in order to minimize enforcement exposure.
Ms. Rice earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied Political Science and Spanish. Her coursework concentrated primarily on interstate conflict management and resolution, and the establishment of international institutions. While at UNC-CH, Ms. Rice’s research focused on the relationship between intrastate conflict intensification and ethnic repression in the Middle East and Northern Africa.
