Chambers Gives CLK High Marks…Again

April 23, 2020

Chambers today announced its prominent ranking of CLK in its Chambers USA 2020 guide. This ranking comes on the heels of other recent rankings for the firm in Chambers publications, including both the Chambers Canada 2020 guide and Chambers Global 2020 guide.

Chambers’ ratings follow recent rankings from other organizations including Who’s Who Legal — which recently referred to CLK as “the foremost trade and customs team in North America” — BestLawyers, Expert Guides, Legal 500, and others.

Chambers USA

Chambers USA 2020 promoted CLK’s Washington office to Band 2 in its guide for Trade Remedies and Trade Policy. It also recognized four CLK lawyers individually as leaders in trade remedies or customs. Chambers USA described the CLK team as providing “excellent service” to “an impressive roster of clients that includes trade associations, multinational corporations and provincial governments.” Chambers cited CLK’s “strong pedigree in trade remedies” as evidenced by the firm’s “strong track record in antidumping and countervailing duty cases” representing US petitioners and foreign respondents. Chambers USA also praised individual CLK attorneys, ranking Jack Levy, James R. Cannon Jr., and Myles Getlan in Trade Remedies and Yohai Baisburd in Customs.

Christopher Kent was lauded by clients who said he was “… an ‘utterly brilliant attorney;’ sources look upon him as one of the leading international trade practitioners in the country.” High praise was also given to Christopher Cochlin who was described as an “exceptional” practitioner with “boundless enthusiasm” by one commentator, while another lauded him as a “great courtroom lawyer.” Andrew Lanouette was praised as a “sharp” lawyer and terrific research specialist. Gerry Stobo was noted as “… an acclaimed expert in complex public procurement mandates and disputes, with sources unanimous in their praise of his legal prowess.” Lawrence Herman was described as a “true statesman” who is “highly respected” and “known for his expertise in international treaty compliance, particularly WTO and NAFTA.”
