Next Thursday, May 12, former WTO Appellate Body Chair and Member Tom Graham will participate in a panel discussion on “The Future of the WTO” sponsored by the Bipartisan Policy Center, hosted by former US Ambassador to the WTO Dennis Shea, and including former WTO Director General Roberto Azevedo.
The discussion, which will precede by one month the WTO’s 12th Ministerial Conference, will cover US calls for significant reforms of the WTO’s negotiating, monitoring, and dispute settlement functions, inaction on reforms by WTO members as a whole, and growing concerns about the WTO’s future relevance.
Other participants are William Reinsch (Senior Advisor and Scholl Chair in International Business, Center for Strategic & International Studies), and Nazak Nikakhtar (Partner, Wiley LLP).
More information on the event and a link to register are available on the Bipartisan Policy Center website.
