Andrew Paterson is International Trade Counsel in Cassidy Levy Kent’s Ottawa office. Mr. Paterson assists clients with trade remedies, customs, and government procurement matters before both the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and the Canada Border Services Agency, as well as on judicial reviews before the Federal Courts of Canada.
Before joining CLK, Mr. Paterson practiced at a national full-service law firm in the commercial litigation group, where he represented clients before the Federal Court of Canada, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and various administrative tribunals.
Mr. Paterson holds a J.D. from the University of Ottawa and a B.A. from Dalhousie university. While in law school, he was a member of the ELSA/WTO Moot team, which advanced to the international round in Geneva. He was also a student fellow with the University of Ottawa’s Global Health Law Clinic.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Paterson served for ten years as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. He is a proud fourth-generation veteran who continues to serve by providing pro bono services to a variety of veteran organizations.
