Gillian Rice is a Senior Compliance Specialist in Cassidy Levy Kent’s Washington office. Ms. Rice supports clients, attorneys, and economists involved in various compliance-related matters before U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the U.S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. International Trade Commission, United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement binational panels, the U.S. Court of International Trade, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Ms. Rice assists in a wide range of import-related matters, including customs valuation, tariff classification, country of origin, marking and labeling, free trade agreements and special programs, Foreign-Trade Zones, Section 301, 201, and 232 tariffs, the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act and other forced labor-related concerns, supply chain mapping, prior disclosures, and protests. She has experience with customs enforcement matters, compliance audits, internal compliance reviews, and customs penalties, liquidated damages claims, detentions, and seizures.

Ms. Rice also supports clients in identifying potential areas of U.S. import non-compliance, and those developing and implementing internal compliance programs. Ms. Rice also advises companies on compliance with U.S. export control regulations.
