Matthew Berrigan is a Trade Accountant in Cassidy Levy Kent’s Washington, DC, office. Mr. Berrigan, who was trained as a Certified Public Accountant as well as a Certified Fraud Examiner, provides data and economic support to clients and firm attorneys in a variety of trade remedy actions before the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. International Trade Commission.
Prior to working in the international trade field, Mr. Berrigan served as a financial statement auditor in various industries, including consolidated healthcare systems, hospitals, manufacturers, construction, real estate and financial institutions, most recently as a forensic accountant. As a forensic accountant, he assisted clients with various compliance and investigative efforts, including work on the Special Compliance Coordinator team of the largest export controls monitorship reporting to the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). In that role, he led and assisted remote and in-person export control compliance inspections of corporate headquarters and subsidiaries around the world.
