Mr. Hekim is an international trade lawyer and a Certified Sanctions Specialist at Cassidy Levy Kent’s Brussels Office. Mr. Hekim assists corporate and government clients on all aspects of international trade and WTO law, economic sanctions and export controls compliance, as well as regulatory matters.
Mr. Hekim represents clients in trade defence investigations across multiple jurisdictions, including the European Commission, the UK Trade Remedies Authority, and the Turkish Ministry of Trade. Mr. Hekim has also experience in WTO disputes.
Mr. Hekim also has significant experience advising clients on import and export control matters, as well as on compliance with EU and international sectoral and financial sanctions, particularly in the context of the war in Ukraine.
He holds accreditation as a Certified Sanctions Specialist by the Association of Certified Sanctions Specialists (ACSS).
In addition to his expertise in international trade and sanctions, Mr. Hekim has developed a sound understanding of EU regulatory matters (in particular, CBAM, EU Deforestation Regulation, and the Sustainable Due Diligence Directive).
Prior to joining Cassidy Levy Kent, Mr. Hekim worked in the international trade and sanctions practices of several other international law firms.
