Valentina Van Opdenbosch

Valentina Van Opdenbosch is an associate attorney in the Brussels office of Cassidy Levy Kent, where she specializes in customs law, international trade, import VAT and other EU regulatory matters. Prior to joining the firm she practiced at two other international law firms.

Ms. Van Opdenbosch’s work involves advising multinational corporations and local clients from different industries on EU and Belgian customs law, compliance, and high-stakes customs litigation before the Belgian courts. Her expertise also extends to drafting and reviewing customs contracts. She possesses in-depth knowledge of the Union Customs Code Reform and frequently addresses broader EU regulatory queries.

In addition to her legal work, Ms. Van Opdenbosch serves as a lecturer at Maastricht University, where she teaches courses on customs law, and she has served as a member of Greenlane, an alliance of customs and international trade law firms across Europe and beyond. She is also deeply committed to giving back to the community through pro bono work, offering legal services to those in need and supporting social justice causes.

Ms. Van Opdenbosch holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in law from KU Leuven, and she further honed her expertise by completing a specialized LL.M. in Customs and International Supply Chain Taxation at Maastricht University. She is a member of the Brussels Bar and is fluent in Dutch, English, and French, enabling her to assist a diverse range of international clients.
